we hope our last gym lesson could enhance your physical and m ental fitness so that you are well prepared for oliver schories >wildfang< -exercices on turnbeutel02. his original workout is by now well known for warming both your body and your soul, so that different trainers adapted it and developed multiple variations. one comes from ackers head mollono.bass, for sure he will help you to get in motion. in addition jaxson & david keno produced a monster remix of ollis track, as well as alex q (kleinstadtfeeling, mgf) did, both sticking to the melodic original but transporting its atmosphere into different directions.

15 years have passed since alex cortex began to create his own vision of electronic music - timeless and beyond trends, without a buzz or hype, steadily winning the following of djs and home-listeners, collectors and critics worldwide. his style can be described as unpredictable to a certain point, while maintaining high aesthetic standards. playful with quotes and references, always low-key and focused on psychedelic immersion into sound that shifts the attention from the artist to the music. kihon is a very personal effort, as suggested by the self-portrait on the cover that puts ear, eye, and mouth -reception and production- into context. the carefully elaborated design of this gatefold double lp speaks as a whole and in true minimalist fashion about the passing of time, without ever declaring nostalgia to be a means for itself. this also reflects in the music. alex cortex evades large gestures and obvious quotes, but is certainly conscious of locating his album within a framework of references to other works of electronic music that are important for his own musical evolution. in 11 nameless tracks, kihon takes us on a journey through organic worlds of sound that invites us to flow with the music and connect with the feelings contained in it. the title kihon that relates to japanese martial arts translates to basics or fundamentals, the training of which does not even cease when reaching master grades. those basics that are passed on beyond time are also the foundation of this album. by concentrating on the bare essentials, the music begins to speak, turning the album into a harmonic whole. kihon therefore is also a return to listening, away from a utilitarian perception of music as a background sound. this does not mean it would not work perfectly well in a club context -in the right hands it indeed does- but more notably, kihon is a work of art worth your attention and destined to stand the test of time

alex_q is not really unknown in our small family. he show off his talent last year in spring with the >endlich frühling ep< here on mgf. this time he will be even more intimate. as the name suggests, its all about a girl. but who are we to talk about this. there are much more talented people who have done this much better than we can. we just let the music talk. enjoy!

alex kork, founder of 9volt presents 4 great minimal-techno tracks on plattenbau-music. alex also released on relax. he did his first steps producing electronic music already in his youth. experiments with self-made oscillators, noise generators, synthesizers and sequencers he was always in searching for new sounds. as techno found the way in his hometown in the early 90s he was flashed by the new sound. as hydro he played on a lot of events and also he organised own parties. since founding the cannibal cooking club together with error in 1999 they play as liveact in the clubs. the own label for their crazy and unique sound was born in 2003. his label 9volt-musik was founded in 2006. focussed on the sound he likes, its a platform for his own productions and friends.

two tracks that spit in the face of all those harmless, flat and cheesy >we want to be played by everybody< productions and its of course alex who takes the risk. supersonic flattens down everything with an incredible bassy basis which even almost sucks the bassdrum. classic techno and a sure shot on every technoset. centerangle on the flip is kind of slowed down and much more adventurious compared to supersonic. the breaks and the startup after them are causing riots in alexs sets right now the crispy, powerful production of this tune is nothing else as another example of alex trademark: techno in its basic sense!

mainrecords is back - stronger then ever!
we are proud to present an very talented upcoming artist from athens/greece called billy on air. growing up in a house full of music had many influences by different kinds to him. he started playing the piano at the age of 6 and that you can hear on his first production for mainrecords wich is a very aelodic and well produced hybrid between techno and trance. for his debut we got some cool remixes, the first one is from our long-time friend frank leicher who has stripped down the original to a techhouse bomb in his typical style. on the flip we present a crazy technoid remix by noone less then alex bau. his repaint uses just the essential drums of the original.
